Beneficiary Family #1:
Meet Jim Grebin. He was diagnosed with rectal cancer in March 2021 and endured chemo and radiation and still has a small tumor. Jim is self-employed and owns a lawn care business by himself. After returning to work too soon, he developed a perineal hernia requiring another surgery in December. He is the sole provider for his wife, who recently had back surgery, and their three children. No Frills can not wait to lift the Grebin Family up. Beneficiary #2: Meet Kristen Oldham, a single mom of 3 girls who works 2 full time jobs as a hair stylist and daycare provider to make ends meet. Kristen has medical issues herself, has been supporting family members with mental health issues, and is now helping to care for her 21 year old daughter, who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. It has been an extremely tough year for Kristen and her girls and they can use our support. We’ve got you, Kristen and family. Beneficiary #3: Meet Jay Paparone, in August 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he suffered a massive stroke that significantly impacted his life. As a result of the long-term effects of his medical condition, Jay is unable to perform many activities of daily living. He experiences seizures, has permanent paralysis on his right side, and has lost much of his ability to speak. Jay has been a lifelong resident of Elmhurst. His educational journey began at Visitation Grade School and continued at York High School, where he met his wife, Kris. Together, they built a loving and enduring partnership. Jay and Kris are proud parents to two wonderful sons, Joe and Josh Paparone, who have been steadfastly supportive throughout Jay's recovery. Anyone who knows Jay fondly recalls his deep love for his family, his sharp sense of humor, and his passion for music and sports. Let’s do it for the Paperones, Elmhurst! Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." |

THANK YOU!!!!
No Frills Fun Run is an annual charitable run that was started in 2012 by two moms in Elmhurst, Illinois. Each year, one local family in need is selected to receive 100% of the proceeds from all the funds raised across various fundraising events, the race registration and a rockin' after race party with raffle baskets and silent auction items.
The run itself is exactly as its name implies... "no frills". It's usually cold (and sometimes snowy!) outside but the incredible hearts of this community's runners, sponsors and volunteers make this one of the warmest events in town. The race takes place on the Prairie Path with a start and finish at York and the Prairie Path. The course option is a 5K distance, you can complete it twice for a 10K. You can also choose to run or walk a mile if that's more your speed! What matters more than the distance is your participation and support!
